Assessment of seedborne diseases of jute and allied fibres crops (Jute, Flax, Sunnhemp and mesta), their impact in yield loss, environmental impact on development of seed borne diseases and standardization of disease free quality seed production technology.

Study the efficiency of different Trichoderma strains against stem rot (Macrophomina phaseolina) of jute, their growth promoting activities, identification of substrates for mass multiplication and development of formulation.

Screening of jute germplasm against stem rot of jute (M. phaseolina) to find out the source of resistance.
